Overview
The Hotel
The Bauer has occupied the same San Marco address since 1880, its upper floors looking out over the Grand Canal toward the Church of Santa Maria della Salute. A multi-year restoration overseen by Alberto Torsello and BAR Studio is rebuilding everything behind the historic facade, including a rooftop pool and an eighth-floor Venetian altana terrace, with financing for the project confirmed in September 2025 and an opening targeted for 2026 or later.
