Rosewood Ranfaru is taking shape across a chain of private islands around a lagoon in South Malé Atoll, just 35 minutes by yacht or 10 minutes by seaplane from Malé, marking Rosewood's first entry into the Maldives. The project's timeline has moved since it was first announced, an originally targeted 2025 debut now confirmed for 2027 across multiple current trade sources.

The finished resort will offer roughly 120 villas, one to five bedrooms each, with private pools, spread across configurations that are either beachfront or overwater. That range of villa sizes gives the resort flexibility from intimate couples' stays to full family or group takeovers of a single private islet.

The Maldives already hosts some of the world's most decorated luxury resort brands, and Rosewood's decision to enter with a project this ambitious, its most significant Maldives entry by scale, signals the brand intends to compete immediately at the top of an already crowded, extremely high-end market.
