Rosewood Kauri Cliffs' championship golf course, designed by David Harman and long considered one of the finest in New Zealand, underwent a significant renewal beginning October 6, 2025, when the fairways were regrassed with a more drought-tolerant Bermuda grass variety. The course reopened for play on December 10, 2025, timed deliberately ahead of the Southern Hemisphere's summer season.

The switch to drought-tolerant grass reflects a broader shift in course maintenance across warm-climate golf destinations, prioritizing long-term resilience over the traditional look of cooler-climate turf varieties.
