Rosewood Munich Promotes Matthias Brenner to Executive Chef

Rosewood Munich promoted from within when it named Matthias Brenner its new Executive Chef, elevating him from his previous role as head chef of the hotel's Brasserie Cuvilliés. Managing Director Roland Dürr called the move a logical and deserved next step, a promotion that keeps the property's culinary continuity intact rather than bringing in an outside hire.

Brenner's new mandate covers considerably more than the Brasserie he came from. He now oversees Montez, the hotel's bar, along with the garden, winter garden, banquet operations, and in-room dining, a genuinely broad remit for a chef stepping into his first executive role.

Rosewood Munich opened in October 2023 as Rosewood's first property in Germany, and Brenner's promotion, roughly two years into the hotel's life, reflects a property settling into a more mature operating rhythm. For a Bavarian capital with a deep, traditional hotel culture, having a homegrown chef take the top culinary post gives Rosewood Munich a genuinely local anchor.
