Rosewood Blue Palace is being reimagined on a hillside between the fishing village of Plaka and the port town of Elounda on Crete's northeastern coast, overlooking the Gulf of Elounda toward Spinalonga Island. K-Studio, one of Greece's most respected architecture firms, is leading the design, with interiors by Afroditi Krassa, a pairing that promises a distinctly Cretan sense of place rather than an imported resort aesthetic.

The finished property will offer 154 rooms and suites, 85 of them with private pools, alongside six restaurants and bars and an Asaya wellness center. Opening timing has moved from an originally announced 2025 target to 2026, a shift reflected consistently across current trade coverage, though the exact date remains worth reconfirming as the year progresses.

Crete's luxury hotel scene has grown considerably more sophisticated in recent years, and Rosewood's arrival on the Elounda coast, already home to some of Greece's most established resorts, signals the brand sees genuine long-term demand for ultra-luxury hospitality on the island.
