Rosewood Rome is being built inside a genuinely significant piece of the city's 20th-century history: the former headquarters of Banca Nazionale del Lavoro on Via Veneto, three early-1900s buildings designed by Marcello Piacentini, the architect most associated with Rome's Fascist-era architectural ambitions. Reusing that history for a luxury hotel is a deliberate statement about the neighborhood's evolving identity.

The bank's original vault is being converted into a subterranean Roman bathhouse, a genuinely unusual amenity that turns a piece of financial infrastructure into a wellness space. Above ground, the property will offer roughly 157 rooms, including 44 suites, with a rooftop spa featuring four treatment rooms and a reflecting pool overlooking the city.
