Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc

Antibes, France

Overview

The Hotel

Perched at the tip of the Cap d'Antibes since 1870, Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc occupies a rarefied category all its own — a place so mythologized by the writers and film stars who made it their summer address that its name functions almost as shorthand for the Riviera itself. Set within 22 acres of pine woodland cascading to a private rocky shoreline, the property divides its 111 rooms and suites between the original Belle Époque villa and the cliff-side Eden-Roc Pavilion above the sea. The Michelin-starred restaurant Louroc, a saltwater pool hewn from the rock, 33 private pine-shaded cabanas, and a Dior Spa complete an experience that remains almost defiantly unreproducible. The hotel accepts cash only and does not advertise — a stance that has only deepened its legend.
