Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc gave its gastronomic program a genuine overhaul for the 2025 season, bringing in three-Michelin-star chef Éric Frechon from sister property Le Bristol Paris to work alongside the hotel's own Executive Chef Arnaud Poëtte. It's the kind of cross-collection collaboration that only really makes sense within a group like Oetker Collection, where two of the most storied kitchens in France can share ideas without either losing its own identity.
The renovation extended well past the kitchen. New cabanas designed by Francis Sultana channel the carefree elegance of the 1960s, while the nine-bedroom Villa La Guettière underwent a full, year-long restoration under architect Luc Svetchine and designer Comtesse Bergit Gräfin Douglas, bringing a property originally built in the 1970s fully up to date. Suites and standard rooms across the main hotel were refreshed as well, part of a broader wave of investment tied to the hotel's ongoing anniversary celebrations.
For a hotel that has hosted everyone from F. Scott Fitzgerald to generations of European royalty on this same stretch of Cap d'Antibes, the balancing act has always been the same: modernize enough to stay genuinely excellent without erasing the atmosphere that made the place legendary in the first place. This round of updates, kitchen included, seems to have found that balance again.
