Chef Jean-Philippe Blondet was awarded France's Order of Agricultural Merit in a ceremony held at Hôtel Plaza Athénée in November 2025, recognition for more than two decades working alongside Alain Ducasse across several of the chef's restaurants. It is a distinctly French kind of honor, one that recognizes a career built on sourcing and technique rather than a single flashy dish or moment, and it landed at the hotel where Blondet has spent much of his recent career.
The Avenue Montaigne hotel's dining program remains genuinely deep. Chef Jean Imbert oversees five restaurants across the property, with Jean Imbert au Plaza Athénée holding onto its one Michelin star in the 2025 guide, while pastry chef Angelo Musa, a Meilleur Ouvrier de France and winner of the World Pastry Cup, continues to shape the hotel's dessert program. Few hotels anywhere carry this much concentrated culinary talent under one address.
The hotel has also worked through targeted renovations across 2024 and 2025, refreshing its Haute Couture rooms and suites in step with the fashion houses along Avenue Montaigne just outside its doors. Between the ongoing room updates and this year's chef recognition, Plaza Athénée continues to operate as one of the more culturally connected hotels in Paris, tightly woven into the same world of French craft it borrows its name and design language from.
