Belmond La Samanna St. Martin Introduces Bee-Centric Wellness Experiences

Belmond La Samanna introduced bee-centric wellness therapies starting in January 2025, including guided bee-watching sessions and artisan workshops where guests sculpt with beeswax, part of a broader sustainability push that has become something of a throughline across several Belmond resorts in recent seasons. Set across 55 acres of gardens on St. Martin's French side, the resort has plenty of space to dedicate to the hives without disturbing its beachfront guest experience.

The programming builds on a 2019 renovation that brought a $20 million redesign from London-based firm Muza Lab, giving the resort a refreshed look before it reopened for the 2024 season on November 15. St Martin's Leading Resort honors in both 2024 and 2025 suggest the combination of that renovation and the newer wellness programming has kept La Samanna at the top of the island's luxury hierarchy.

Beyond the beekeeping, the resort hosted tennis lessons with former professional player James Ward from February 3 through 8, 2025, adding a sporting dimension to a season otherwise built around wellness and holiday celebrations. For a resort that has always traded on quiet, unfussy French-Caribbean luxury, these additions feel like genuine expansions of what the property offers rather than a departure from its identity.
