Rocco Forte is preparing to open its first Sardinian property and second European resort on the bay of Liscia di Vacca in Porto Cervo, right in the heart of the Costa Smeralda. The two-acre beachfront resort will offer 64 rooms and suites, with interiors from designer Patricia Urquiola and landscaped gardens by Patrizia Pozzi, aiming for a balance of contemporary design and Mediterranean restraint rather than the more maximalist look some of the coast's other resorts have leaned into.
Dining will span three distinct venues built around Sardinian and Mediterranean cooking, with an emphasis on fresh, locally sourced ingredients rather than imported concepts, alongside a private beach club offering access to one of the region's more pristine stretches of sand. A full-service spa rounds out the resort's amenities, giving Rocco Forte a genuinely complete new address on one of Europe's most exclusive coastlines.
The project has been designed with sustainability as a real priority rather than an afterthought, built to honor the surrounding landscape using Sardinian materials and construction principles. For a brand that has built its European resort portfolio carefully rather than quickly, Costa Smeralda represents a meaningful next step, joining Verdura Resort in Sicily as the group's second true Mediterranean beach resort.
