Belmond Romazzino reopened under Belmond management on May 30, 2024, bringing one of the Costa Smeralda's original 1960s beachside hotels into the Belmond portfolio for the first time. The property was originally designed by architect Michele Busiri Vici, part of the wave of midcentury development that first defined this stretch of Sardinia's coastline as a genuine international destination.

Interior design studio Palomba Serafini Associati has been leading a multi-phase renovation, with the first phase revealing newly redesigned outdoor areas ahead of the 2024 season. The hotel's 100 guest rooms include suites and villas, many with private pools, spread around two pools and a stretch of private beach that has always been one of the property's defining features since it first opened in 1965.

As one of Belmond's newer Italian additions, Romazzino sits within the same broader portfolio as Splendido in Portofino, Villa San Michele in Florence, and the Sicilian properties in Taormina, giving the group a genuinely comprehensive footprint across Italy's most storied coastal destinations. For travelers who remember the original Aga Khan-era Romazzino, the Belmond reopening represents a meaningful new chapter for one of Sardinia's founding luxury addresses.
