Four Seasons Hotel Rio de Janeiro to Mark the Brand's Return to Brazil

Four Seasons Hotel Rio de Janeiro will mark the brand's return to Brazil after more than a decade away, announced in December 2025 in partnership with Catuaí Asset. The project will occupy Leblon's tallest building, on the site of the former Hotel Marina Palace, which has been closed since 2017, in one of Rio's most desirable beachfront neighborhoods.

Plans call for around 120 rooms and suites, with a rooftop bar and pool overlooking the Atlantic and a signature restaurant blending local and international cuisine. With an anticipated opening in 2029, the hotel is an early-stage project, so its timeline should be treated as a long-range target rather than a firm date.

Rio is one of the world's great coastal cities, and the return of a Four Seasons would give it a defining modern luxury address on Leblon's sands. It is among the most significant announcements for South American luxury travel in recent years.
