Belmond Grand Hotel Timeo marked its 150th anniversary with a full program of arts, culture, and gastronomy events, including Michelin-starred Executive Chef Roberto Toro taking his cooking beyond the hotel's walls to unique locations across Sicily and the launch of a limited-edition Etna wine bottle made specifically for the milestone. Toro's regular menu at the hotel leans into distinctly Sicilian pairings, including a spaghetti with clams served over grouper carpaccio that captures the region's coastal identity in a single dish.

The bigger news for 2026 is Villa Timeo, a 21-room residence opening in May just steps from the main hotel, redesigned by interior designer Laura Gonzalez. The villa's position offers exceptional views over the Mediterranean, Taormina, and the town's ancient Greek amphitheater, and it will house its own Michelin-starred restaurant, Otto Geleng, giving guests staying at the villa a dedicated fine dining option separate from the main hotel's program.

Grand Hotel Timeo sits on the hillside above Taormina, distinct from beachfront sister property Villa Sant'Andrea down at sea level, and the combination of the anniversary programming and the new villa gives the hotel real momentum heading into another Sicilian summer.
