The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur appointed Marco Erba as its new Executive Chef, announced in mid-2026, bringing more than 15 years of international culinary experience across France, Italy, Australia, China, Qatar, and South Korea. Erba's most recent posting was at a luxury hotel in Shanghai, giving him direct experience across several of the same markets where St. Regis operates.
Erba now oversees the hotel's full culinary portfolio, including The Brasserie, the hotel's Michelin-selected French and Mediterranean-Asian restaurant, The Drawing Room, home to the St. Regis Afternoon Tea ritual, and Ushi, a twelve-seat omakase kaiseki-style Japanese restaurant on Level 3A that's earned its own Michelin recognition, built around Ozaki beef.
The appointment lands as the hotel marks what it calls A Decade of Distinction, referencing its 2016 opening. Bringing in a chef with this breadth of international experience for the hotel's second decade signals The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur intends to keep evolving its dining program rather than simply maintaining what's already worked.
