Consistency like no other: Hillstone Restaurants

January 2025 · 4 min read

Do you have a restaurant that you gravitate to when you want to go to a dinner or lunch in your town? A place that you feel is consistent. Somewhere you always get your great service, consistently good food, and a good atmosphere or vibe? For me, those are ALWAYS Hillstone restaurants. I live in a city with an amazing array of top restaurants. Great lunches or dinners over the ocean, always sunny, always new openings. Of course, I’m the girl that wants to try every new spot that opens when it opens in town and while I end up liking or enjoying each one, appreciating the restaurant and beauty of it but they rarely have me wanting to go back immediately - if ever. I may have enjoyed the food, service, or overall atmosphere of the place, but they don’t stand out as a place I immediately could go back to. Here’s where Hillstone comes in. We have a large array of Hillstone restaurants in our town as well as the nearby towns so you’d think, been there done that. Right?

Well it’s not the case….at all. I now find myself whenever a new restaurant opens, wanting to just cancel the reservation and head to a Hillstone. Why? Why wouldn’t you just go to the new restaurant opening in town? I know we won’t be let down. It’s that consistent in every department. Yeah, the restaurant opening might be good but I can usually find something that’s lacking. Either the food is great but the service and vibe is off or the service is good but it’s not a vibey restaurant or maybe the food was just meh coupled with an expensive bill and I’m not in a rush to go back anytime soon. Now let me tell you something about Hillstone restaurants. I am not joking when I say this but I have NEVER had a bad experience. I have never had bad service. I have never liked what I order, as even when I go to a sister restaurant of theirs, that menu item is consistent at each location. Every location I visit, no matter the city or State, the food is always the same as you like.

Here’s some things they prioritize:

1) Never waiting to order a drink or talk to someone as soon as you’re sat. Most restaurants immediately seat you and then say “your server will be right over.” Now, how many times have we sat down and wanted to order something but we’re left waiting minutes for a server to appear? Maybe they’re busy and don’t realize you’ve been sat and just want to order something and now your patience is being thrown off. When their hostesses seat you, they immediately ask if they can get you a drink. Imagine driving for an hour and you want a quick drink before your date gets there or want a quick tea. The hostess will seat you and then ask you if you want something to drink. This is where I immediately put my order in for my mango tea.

2) Ask any employee/server/waitress that’s walking by for something. Another “how many times have we sat at a table and quickly need something.. ask someone walking by really quickly and they go “sure, let me go grab your server.” Now you’re waiting more time for your server who might be busy. Everyone works together and helps out so you’re never left waiting. This is also good because at other restaurants employees constantly feel that they have their certain tables and those are the only tables they’re willing to work for.

3) They always prioritize bringing your sauces before your meal gets there. Yet another “how many times do we get our food brought to the table and then realize we need a sauce or dressing for it and then have to wait for our server to get back to the table to go and bring you sauce. This makes a difference.

4) The seating. At every restaurant of theirs, they really prioritize seating arrangements and all of their seating usually besides the bar is booth seating. I love this.

he food is always consistent. Their recipes are exact.
