CUT at 45 Park Lane Marks Wolfgang Puck's Debut Restaurant in Europe

45 Park Lane has quietly built one of the more interesting dining rosters of any 45-room hotel anywhere, and CUT at 45 Park Lane is the centerpiece. It marks Wolfgang Puck's first restaurant in Europe, mirroring the original CUT in Beverly Hills with the same emphasis on serious steaks, a deep wine list, and service that doesn't get in its own way. For a chef who built his name in California, opening his European debut inside a Thierry Despont-designed Mayfair hotel says something about how the two brands see each other.

CUT shares the hotel with Sushi Kanesaka, chef Shinji Kanesaka's Michelin-starred London outpost, giving 45 Park Lane a genuinely rare combination for a hotel this size: two serious, chef-driven restaurants operating under one small roof, both good enough to draw diners who aren't even staying at the hotel. The property holds Two MICHELIN Keys overall, recognition that extends past the kitchens into the design, service, and character of the place as a whole.

Beyond the restaurants, the hotel's art collection, featuring works from Damien Hirst and Sir Peter Blake, and its 10,000-square-foot spa with Park Lane's longest pool round out a property that behaves more like a very well-connected private residence than a conventional hotel. Every room looks directly onto Hyde Park, which is unusual enough on its own in this part of London.
