Mandarin Oriental, Vienna opened its doors on October 20, 2025, marking the brand's first property in Austria and giving Vienna's already dense luxury hotel market a genuinely new culinary proposition. Chef Thomas Seifried oversees the hotel's entire food and beverage program under a single umbrella concept called Atelier 7, spanning four distinct venues rather than a single flagship restaurant.
The four venues cover a full day and evening: Le Sept operates as the fine-dining anchor, Atelier 7 Brasserie handles all-day dining, Atelier 7 The Café revives the Viennese coffeehouse tradition central to the city's identity, and Atelier 7 Izakaya and Bar brings Japanese fusion into the mix for evening service. Running all four under one culinary vision gave Seifried a level of control over the guest experience that's rare for a hotel this new.
The reception was immediate. Mandarin Oriental, Vienna picked up multiple nominations at the 2026 World Travel Awards, including Europe's Leading New Hotel, Austria's Leading Hotel Suite, and Austria's Leading Luxury Hotel, a strong showing for a property still in its first full year of operation.
