Four Seasons Hotel Mallorca at Formentor Reopens With a New Seaside Restaurant

Four Seasons Hotel Mallorca at Formentor carries forward one of the most storied names in Mediterranean hospitality. Originally the Hotel Formentor, which opened in 1929 and hosted a legendary roster of writers, artists, and royalty, the property debuted as a Four Seasons after an extensive restoration and reopened fully in March 2025 with new dining and a wellness centre.

For the 2026 season, the hotel reopened again in mid-March, adding a new seaside restaurant, Llum i Sal, and a 600-square-meter wellness sanctuary. Executive Chef Francesco Mannelli oversees the dining program, including Mel, which focuses on farm-fresh Mediterranean cooking drawn from the island's produce.

Set at the tip of the dramatic Formentor peninsula on Mallorca's northern coast, surrounded by pine forest and cliffs, the hotel occupies one of the most scenic settings in the Balearics. Its careful restoration honors the property's history while bringing it firmly into the present.
