Four Seasons Resort Langkawi Earns Two Michelin Keys, the Only Such Hotel in Malaysia

Four Seasons Resort Langkawi was awarded two Michelin Keys in the Michelin Guide's inaugural Malaysia hotel ratings around October 2025, standing as the only two-key hotel in the entire country. For a resort set along a broad beach on the island's northwest coast, backed by ancient rainforest and dramatic limestone karsts, the distinction confirms its place at the very top of Malaysian hospitality.

The recognition followed a redesign led by the celebrated designer Bill Bensley, who shifted the resort's palette from earthen tones to bold blues and added new Deluxe Family Beach Villas and three-bedroom Garden Villas with Pool. The resort was also named among the Tatler Best Hotels Malaysia for 2026.

Bensley's theatrical, nature-forward style has always suited Langkawi's setting, where the resort blends Moorish and Malay influences into its pavilions and villas. The two keys give the property formal recognition to match its long-standing reputation.
