Airelles Palladio Venice: Inside the Collection's First Home Outside France

For three decades, the Airelles name meant one thing above all: France, and the particular magic of a handful of palaces in the Alps, at Versailles, and on the Riviera. That changed in April 2026, when Airelles Palladio opened its doors on the island of Giudecca, the collection's ninth address and its first ever outside France. It is a confident place to begin an Italian chapter: a 16th-century Palladian estate looking across the water to San Marco, reimagined with the warmth, whimsy, and near-obsessive service that have made Airelles a quiet fixation among those who know.

Giudecca sits just across a ribbon of water from the Piazza San Marco, and yet it feels a world away from the crush of the main islands. Airelles Palladio occupies a historic site of three interlinked 16th-century buildings and the beautifully restored Church of Santa Maria della Presentazione, known as Le Zitelle, set within nearly a hectare of Mediterranean gardens, a rarity in a city built on stone and water.

The architecture carries the name of Andrea Palladio, whose influence shaped this stretch of the Giudecca waterfront, and the Maison has been restored in that classical spirit: pale stone, ordered proportion, and cloistered gardens that open, almost unbelievably, onto full views of St Mark's across the lagoon. Three swimming pools thread through the greenery. The remove from the crowds is not a compromise here, it is the entire point.

Rarely does a hotel open with a culinary lineup like this. Airelles Palladio arrives with seven restaurants and bars, among them a constellation of the most decorated names in global dining, each given their own stage across the estate.

Beyond the signature tables, the Palladio Bar looks out over the Fondamenta and the lagoon, the garden-set Botanica Bar pours cocktails among the greenery, and Zitelle Bacaro honors the Venetian ritual of cicchetti and an ombra of wine in an authentic, unfussy setting.

The 45 keys are spread across the estate, 17 rooms and 28 suites plus a three-bedroom private villa, and they wear their history openly. Superior Rooms of 33 to 36 square metres keep the time-worn brick and terracotta floors of 16th-century Giudecca; Deluxe Rooms look onto the gardens, the Venetian rooftops, and quiet interior courtyards. The Signature Suites, from 155 to 202 square metres, add living and dining rooms for longer, grander stays.

At the summit sits the Suite del Doge, an extraordinary four-bedroom, 450 square metre apartment in the heart of Villa Frollo, the kind of space families and groups take for a Biennale or a milestone celebration and remember for the rest of their lives.

Wellness is given room to breathe: 1,700 square metres across three floors, developed in partnership with Guerlain and, at opening, the largest luxury spa in the city. Together with the three garden pools, it makes Airelles Palladio a genuine retreat, not merely a base from which to see Venice, but a reason to stay in.
