Mercedes-Maybach exists to answer a simple question. What lies beyond the most luxurious Mercedes-Benz? Once a single, extravagant saloon, Maybach has grown into a full range of its own, each model taking a Mercedes flagship and elevating it into something quieter, richer, and more exclusive.
The Saloon
The heart of Maybach remains the S-Class. Where the standard Mercedes-Benz S-Class is already the benchmark luxury saloon, the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is longer, more opulent, and built above all for the passenger in the back. Reclining rear seats, a raised level of craftsmanship, and the option of a V12 engine make it a car designed to be driven in rather than driven.
The SUV and the Roadster
Maybach has since expanded well beyond the saloon. The Mercedes-Maybach GLS applies the same treatment to Mercedes' largest SUV, creating an ultra luxury off roader for a market that increasingly prefers to sit high. More surprising still is the Mercedes-Maybach SL, the sub brand's first roadster, which takes the classic Mercedes two seat convertible and reimagines it as an open topped grand tourer of the highest order.
Luxury Beyond the Star
What unites the range is a consistent idea. A Maybach is not simply a faster or flashier Mercedes but a calmer, more crafted one, finished to a standard that sits a clear step above the ordinary flagship. As Mercedes-Benz moves into an electric era, Maybach is following, extending its brand of serene, top tier luxury into new shapes and new powertrains while keeping its essential character intact.
