Ferrari's Latest: Inside the Newest Cars from Maranello

Ferrari has rarely offered as much variety as it does now. The current range from Maranello spans a limited edition hypercar, a revived historic name, front engined grand tourers, a hybrid berlinetta, and, for the first time in the marque's history, a car with four doors. Together they show a company balancing its future with a stubborn loyalty to the engines that made its name.

The F80

At the summit sits the F80, Ferrari's newest limited hypercar and the latest in a line of flagships that runs through the F40, the F50, the Enzo, and the LaFerrari. It is the car that gathers Ferrari's most advanced technology into a single, rare machine, built in strictly limited numbers for the marque's most devoted clients.

A Revived Icon and a New Grand Tourer

Ferrari has also brought back one of its most famous names with the 849 Testarossa, offered as a coupe and a Spider, reviving a badge that defined the marque in the 1980s. Alongside it, the new Amalfi takes over as Ferrari's front engined V8 grand tourer, the elegant successor to the Roma, a car built for covering long distances in style rather than chasing lap times.

Keeping the V12 Alive

For the purists, the 12Cilindri is the headline. A front engined grand tourer built around a naturally aspirated V12, offered as a coupe, a Spider, and even a rare manual, it is Ferrari's insistence that the twelve cylinder engine still has a place in a hybrid age. Below it, the 296 family carries the marque's V6 hybrid technology in a more compact berlinetta.

The First Four Door

Perhaps the most significant of all is the Purosangue, Ferrari's first four door, four seat car and its long resisted answer to the luxury car buyer who wants a Ferrari for every day. Ferrari approached it on its own terms, insisting it is a true Ferrari first and a practical car second. Between the Purosangue at one end and the F80 at the other, the range has never stretched further, and Maranello has never offered more ways to own a prancing horse.
