The Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia sits inside a landmark neoclassical building, a former bank on Avenue of the Arts whose lobby is crowned by a 140-foot domed rotunda. Few hotel arrivals in the city are as dramatic.
Beneath that dome, Aqimero serves modern, sustainable Latin American cuisine by Chef Richard Sandoval, its bar program, The Social Hour, drawing an after-work crowd from Center City. The setting does much of the work, but the kitchen holds its own.
The Center City location places City Hall, the Kimmel Center, and the Avenue of the Arts theaters within a short walk, making the hotel a natural base for a weekend of culture.
