The Ritz-Carlton, Coconut Grove, Miami Returns to Gencom Ownership

The Ritz-Carlton, Coconut Grove, Miami returned to majority ownership by an affiliate of Miami-based Gencom in a transaction announced in December 2025. Gencom originally acquired the hotel in 2011, and its reacquisition places the boutique property back under a locally rooted luxury developer with deep ties to the neighborhood.

The 21-story, 115-room hotel is among the more intimate in the Ritz-Carlton portfolio, and its dining anchors its appeal, from the garden restaurant Isabelle's, serving land-to-sea fare and a lavish brunch, to The Commodore cocktail bar. Sweeping views over Biscayne Bay and the sailboats of Coconut Grove round out the setting.

Coconut Grove is one of Miami's oldest and leafiest neighborhoods, a village-like counterpoint to the intensity of South Beach. Under renewed local ownership, the hotel is well positioned to build on that distinctive sense of place.
