ol Donyo Lodge occupies one of the more quietly spectacular settings in East African safari travel, a sustainable lodge on the Chyulu Hills with direct views of Kilimanjaro, run by Great Plains Conservation inside a wildlife corridor that links Tsavo and Amboseli national parks. Starting in January 2026, guests booking a stay receive a complimentary scenic helicopter tour, giving them an aerial view of the corridor's elephant populations and volcanic hill country that ground-based game drives can't match.

The lodge has also added new Safarilink air service connecting ol Donyo directly to the Maasai Mara, making it considerably easier to pair a Chyulu Hills stay with Kenya's more famous northern reserves in a single itinerary rather than treating them as separate trips.

On the ground, the lodge keeps its footprint deliberately small, eight deluxe suites and one two-bedroom Sambu family suite, each built around private verandas facing Kilimanjaro. The signature experience remains the Star Bed sleepout, an open-air platform where guests can spend the night beneath the Chyulu sky, one of the more genuine wilderness experiences left in East African safari lodging.
