The Michelin Guide extended its rating system beyond restaurants for the first time with the Michelin Keys hotel program, and Mandarin Oriental, Taipei was one of only four Taiwan hotels recognized in its inaugural October 2025 class, alongside Capella Taipei and Kimpton Da An Taipei. Being included in the very first group of Taiwanese hotels to receive the distinction carries particular weight.

The Michelin Guide's description of the property specifically cited its spa and wellness program and its diverse dining outlets, including a dedicated cake shop, as standout features setting it apart from other candidates.
