Maison Albar – L’Imperator is the grande dame of Nîmes, an Art Deco grand hotel opened in 1929 facing the lush Jardins de la Fontaine, a short walk from the Roman amphitheatre and the Maison Carrée in one of France's most ancient cities. Beautifully restored by Maison Albar, it wraps its jazz-age glamour around a leafy inner garden.
The dining bears a famous signature. DUENDE is a Michelin-starred gastronomic restaurant by celebrated chef Pierre Gagnaire, an intimate table with its own garden; L'Impé is his garden brasserie of generous southern French cuisine; and the Hemingway Bar mixes cocktails and tapas beneath the trees.
For a grand, gastronomic stay in Nîmes, L’Imperator is a benchmark.
