How to Book Aman Sveti Stefan: An Island Village on the Adriatic

September 2026 · 6 min read

Sveti Stefan is a tiny island of terracotta roofs and stone lanes that was once a fishing village and later Montenegro's most glamorous resort. Aman's restoration preserved its character while bringing the whole island under a single resort, reached by causeway and ringed by the clear Adriatic. The mainland adds the Villa Miločer and the pine-shaded Queen's and King's beaches.

Accommodation ranges across the island's restored cottages and the suites of Villa Miločer, the former summer home of Yugoslav royalty, each individual in layout and finished with antique detail and sea views. The effect is of staying in a living village rather than a conventional hotel.

Dining is Mediterranean and Adriatic, from the island's Piazza taverna to tables set by the beach and the gardens of Villa Miločer, built on local seafood, olive oil and produce. Several private beach coves give the resort its own stretches of the coast.
