Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon reopened on July 30, 2025 following a €50 million redesign by the Portuguese studio OITOEMPONTO, which used historic photographs to restore the property's original 1959 glamour rather than reinvent it. The result reintroduces the mid-century grandeur that made the Ritz a landmark of the Portuguese capital, updated quietly for a modern guest.

The culinary program held its ground through the transition. CURA, led by Chef Rodolfo Lavrador, retained its Michelin star in the 2026 guide and its Two Suns rating at Repsol Portugal's 2026 Gala dos Sóis, and entered the La Liste ranking for the first time. That consistency matters for a restaurant that reopened alongside a fully renovated hotel.

The Ritz Lisbon remains the only Portuguese property in Forbes Travel Guide's Five-Star category for 2026 and holds two Michelin Keys, the guide's hotel distinction. Between the restoration and the sustained recognition, the hotel reopened not as a nostalgia piece but as the clear benchmark for luxury in Lisbon.
