Four Seasons Hotel New York reopened on November 15, 2024, after a four-year closure that began in 2020, one of the longest renovation timelines of any hotel in the brand's portfolio. Through it all, the hotel preserved I.M. Pei's iconic lobby architecture, the soaring limestone atrium that has defined the property since it opened in 1993.
The reopening rolled out in phases. Initial room categories became bookable in November 2024, with all suites, dinner service at The Garden restaurant, and the spa following through 2025 as the renovation reached completion. Ty Bar, set within the lobby, rounds out the hotel's public spaces.
Few hotel renovations run this long, and reopening with Pei's original architecture fully intact, rather than replacing it, signals how much weight Four Seasons placed on preserving what made the property iconic in the first place. For Manhattan's Midtown East corridor, the return of a hotel this significant was a genuinely major event.
