Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo was named to Condé Nast Traveler's 2026 Triple Crown, a new distinction spanning the magazine's Hot List, Gold List, and Readers' Choice Awards, meaning a property has to satisfy editors and travelers alike to qualify. Landing all three in the same year is a meaningful marker for a resort in a region better known for eco-lodges than five-star hospitality.
The recognition sits alongside an even longer streak. The resort earned Forbes Five-Star status for the eleventh consecutive year in 2026, and it remains the only Forbes Five-Star hotel in all of Costa Rica, a distinction it has held without interruption. It also appeared on Travel + Leisure's May 2026 list of the 500 best hotels in the world.
Spread across a forested peninsula between two beaches on the Papagayo Gulf, with an Arnold Palmer-designed golf course and a spa built into the hillside, the resort has spent more than a decade defining what top-tier travel looks like in Guanacaste. The 2026 recognition confirms it still sets that standard.
