Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara, the historic property on Channel Drive above Butterfly Beach, has been closed since 2020 for an extensive renovation and is preparing to reopen, with the return targeted for later in 2026. As of mid-2026 the resort remained closed while work continued, so the timeline is best treated as anticipated rather than fixed.

The reopening is set to bring significant changes. In April 2025, Four Seasons announced that the reborn resort will debut a Nobu restaurant, joining Four Seasons Lanai and Four Seasons Singapore among the brand's properties with a Nobu. The room count is being reduced by nearly 30 percent to 138 rooms and suites, and the resort will add a 3,557-square-foot free-form family pool with a waterfall and a 150-foot lazy river, along with a separate tranquil adult pool.

A Santa Barbara landmark since 1927, the Biltmore embodies the Spanish Colonial grandeur of the American Riviera, with the Coral Casino Beach and Cabana Club just across the road. Its return will be one of the most anticipated luxury reopenings on the California coast.
