Aman Sveti Stefan Reopens After a Five-Year Closure

Aman Sveti Stefan reopened in 2026 after a five-year closure, restoring one of the Adriatic's most storied hotels. Villa Miločer, the former royal residence on the mainland, welcomed guests from May 22, while the fortified islet itself reopened its stone cottages and suites on July 1, returning the property to a total of 41 units.

The resort had been shuttered since 2021 amid a dispute over public access to the beaches around the island. A settlement confirmed by Montenegro's government reopens both Sveti Stefan Beach and King's Beach to local residents while reserving Queen's Beach for Aman guests, resolving the impasse that kept the hotel closed.

Connected to the mainland by a narrow causeway, the pink-stone village of Sveti Stefan is among the most photographed sights in the Balkans, and its return has been one of the most anticipated reopenings in luxury travel. The waitlist for stays reflects just how singular the setting is.
