Arva sits on the island itself, two stone terraces that catch the sunset over the Adriatic. The menu follows the coast: fresh pasta and risotto, Adriatic fish in cartoccio with Mediterranean salsa, three-hour braised octopus sač, and herb-roasted organic chicken with truffled potato puree.

Dinner here, on the island after the day-trippers have gone, with the Adriatic lit up at dusk, is one of the more genuinely singular dining experiences the region offers.
