Ore

Ore is the more relaxed of the two Ducasse addresses at Versailles, an all-day brasserie under a glass roof restored to its 18th-century original, with views over the gardens.

Breakfast under the restored glass ceiling, with the gardens still quiet before the Château opens to visitors, is arguably the best reason to book a room in the Grand Contrôle rather than day-tripping from Paris. The menu stays close to French brasserie fundamentals, but the setting does most of the work.
