Le George is the George V's all-day counterpart to Le Cinq — designed in white and gold by Pierre-Yves Rochon, with a menu that moves through the Mediterranean rather than the French lexicon. Provençal tarts, Niçoise-inspired salads, grilled fish with ratatouille, and a terrace breakfast that is one of the better ways to start a Paris morning.
The room has a lightness and informality that Le Cinq doesn't, and the lunch menu is particularly good value for the address. The bar does a strong Aperol spritz.
